Chocolate Festival

Chocolate Festival, Southbank Centre, London.
The chocolate-art display is part of the Easter Chocolate Festival, featuring sculptures made entirely from chocolate by master chocolatiers and pastry chefs.
My first photo below is part of the creation shown in the photo below it. The central pillar has flowers attached and looks like marble. I kept wanting to touch the exhibits to check they really were chocolate. There was a reassuring smell of chocolate in the room. The textures of the items were so well done. I kept looking at the glove half thinking someone had left their glove on the display. Amazing!

When I first saw this one I thought the rabbits were made from MDF and painted! The texture along the thin edges was rough like cut MDF.

I love the glove - so life like! I have seen chocolate shoes like that in Wittamer in Belgium - it's their 'thing'. Wittamer does the best chocolates in the world!

Absolutely amazing! After the show is over, I wonder who gets to eat it (or if it would be deemed unfit for human consumption due to all the people having been around it). That would be sad -- and a perfect waste of good chocolate. But it is sure fun to look at, nonetheless!

You had me at the title...what could be better than Raspberry and Chipotle with Chocolate? Loved them all, especially the gloves! I don't know how they do this, I would have eaten the fingers one at a time and never had a finished piece.

I asked that question Judi and was told that at the end of the show it is melted down.

Amy, I'll look out for Wittamer chocolates.

WOW, I would love to eat them all but then we couldn't look at them and the artistry! Well, if the shoe fits, I say "Eat It"! hahaha
